RTE are teaming up with SuperValu for “Recipe for Success?”, a six part series that will see 15 home cooks compete to have their own gastronomic creations stocked on the shelves of one of Ireland’s leading supermarkets.
If your recipe cuts the mustard, it could be stocked on the shelves of SuperValu stores across the country.
Have you got Ireland’s answer to Reggae Reggae Sauce hiding away in your head?
If so, then get your skates on, visit the rte.ie/tv/recipeforsuccess and download the application form (deadline is September 26th)
What’s Reggae Reggae Sauce? A Jamaican sauce made famous by Levi Roots‘ appearance on the Beeb’s Dragons’ Den.
Originally sold at the Notting Hill Carnival, Levi convinced Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh to invest GB£50,000 in return for 40% of his company. The sauce gained a cult following as a result of his memorable television appearance and when stocked by Sainsbury’s supermarkets, it sold between 40,000 and 50,000 bottles per week!

Looks like its going to be a great festival – hope to see loads of up and coming food entrepreneurs there!
