About Cariñena
Cariñena is a wine region in Aragon and one of Spain’s oldest established DOs, established in 1932. It is the origin of the Carignan grape which is probably best known in the south of France.
Campos de Luz
Campos de Luz is made by Bodegas Esteban Martin (Spanish only) in the village of Alfamen in Aragon, about 50 km south-east of Zaragoza and about 380 km north-east from Madrid.
Old vines
The best wines come from low yielding vines, ones that are not too productive. Old vines generally produce less grapes with a more concentrated flavour – hence many wines marketed with “Old Vines” or “Vielles Vignes” on the label.
Harvesting
Most of the grapes arrive at the winery within 20 minutes of being harvested, as the winery sits in the middle of the vineyards
