chateau-fontareche

I should have had this up before today, but tonight Thursday, November 26th there’s a wine producer’s dinner in the IFSC’s newly refurbished La Cuvée (above Enowine), if you’re looking for an excuse to pamper yourself.

What’s on?

Max has created a wonderful menu to compliment the extraordinary wines chosen by Richard McMahon. The wines chosen are from Château Fontarèche, in the rural district of Corbières, France.

About Château Fontarèche

Château Fontarèche, located on the southern most coast of France, lies just south of Narbonne and Languedoc. Founded in 1201 by the Archbishop of Narbonne, who built the Château, surrounded by a trench in a place named Fontarèche. The Château later became home to a long line of Aristocrats and in 1682 the Château began producing wines.

The current owner, Arnaud Comte de Lamy, descended from the Mignards, cut his teeth with one of Pomerol’s most prestigious estates before working as director of vineyards for Jean-Pierre Moueix, owners of one of the most expensive wines in the world, Petrus.

Arnaud’s successor, Vincent Dubernet, is now running Château Fontarèche, and has carried on the tradition of making wines from the local grape varietals, mainly Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignan.

The wines chosen will reflect the estate’s finest examples of their traditional varietals and the best wines region of Corbières.

Dinner starts at 7.30pm and tables are available by booking through email at aidan@lacuvee.ie or call 01 605 4912. Cost €45
