Open wine tasting

What is open wine tasting?
I started the “Open” wine tasting nights to allow people who have an interest in wine to come together and taste wine in a free and unconstrained environment.
- Where? It could be a wine bar, a wine shop or anywhere else.
- When? I try to organise a monthly get together somewhere in Dublin.
How does it work?
It’s really simple.
- Show up on the night (leave a comment on the main blog entry for the night)
- Buy a bottle in the venue
- Open it, share it and talk about it
Who should come to “open wine tasting”?
Anyone with an interest in wine, whether a “beginner”, a “connoisseur” or anywhere inbetween.
The aim of the night is to get people tasting new stuff they may not have tried before and to learn a little more about wine.
How is “open wine” different?
Instead of having a wine expert or wine salesperson stand up and give a talk, open wine is more unstructured. While there may be a theme or themes associated with a wine tasting night, you’re free to do your own thing and try the stuff you want.
